When to discuss testing with your vet
Consider asking about screening if your dog or cat spends time outdoors, visits parks, daycare, or boarding facilities, has gastrointestinal symptoms, or lives in a multi-pet household or a home with young children. Some intestinal parasites can pass from pets to people. The supplier lists routine screening two to four times yearly for outdoor pets; your veterinarian can recommend the right schedule for your pet and prescribe treatment when needed.
